When "Not Yet" Becomes "Right Now"

Corey Jentry

Founder/Author/Activist

Dr. Corey Jentry, PhD, is the author of Selling Sanity: The Troubled-Teen Industry, the Insane Profits, and the Kids Who Pay the Price—an unflinching memoir and investigative exposé that reveals
how vulnerable youth are exploited by a largely unregulated, profit-driven corner of the behavioral health system known as the “troubled-teen” industry.
Dr. Jentry is a survivor of institutional abuse himself and draws on both lived experience and scholarly expertise to expose the coercion, trauma, and systemic failures embedded in these
programs. Growing up in rural poverty and funneled into a facility marketed as therapeutic, he endured emotional abuse disguised as care. Selling Sanity is his call for accountability, reform, and
justice for the thousands of young people subjected to similar harm.

Dr. Jentry holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the London School of Economics, with a focus on power structures, systemic violence, and conflict resolution. Through his consulting practice, Jentry
Consulting Services, he helps healthcare organizations implement trauma-informed, ethical systems while supporting families navigating complex and often predatory care landscapes.

His work has been featured in The Augusta Chronicle, peer-reviewed journals, and national media. Today, he is a sought-after speaker, consultant, and advocate committed to dismantling the systems that commodify childhood pain.
